I am a coffee bean. Coffee beans need to be roasted and ground before they become of any use to their Master. A bean must not remain whole on it's own but ground finely and then it becomes an appetizing aroma especially when the Living Water is poured upon it. My goal is to be a pleasing aroma to my God and Savior.

Do you Write in your Bible?
I would like to take a survey - but I'm not sure how to do that and I would appreciate your explanations anyway. The question I would like to ask is "Do you write in your Bible?" and why or why not? So add a comment and explain.

You can use Quibblo.com to post surveys on your blog:)
To answer your question, I do write and highlight inside my Bible but only inside the KJV as it's usually the one I take to church each week.
Sometimes during the sermon our pastor will provide a bit of history regarding a passage of scripture or give synonyms for a specific word. I like to jot those down. I also write down the names of hymns next to the passage of scripture that inspired them.
I highlight quite a bit too as sometimes a verse speaks to me and I want to find it again.
For me, highlighting and note taking inside my Bible makes it truly mine, customizing it in a way and proving to be a useful tool for later study.
The Bible is God's message to us, but He wants us to understand what He's saying. I started by highlighting, and then took to the point that I needed a few notes in the margins and such, underlining repeated words, that sort of thing.
I've been told that that's some kind of sacrilege (generally by people who revere their Bibles so much that they don't read them), but that would be making the bound pieces of paper into some kind of idol.
Steph, I write in mine, hi-light, place sticky notes too; for a few reasons:
1. For my kids - so that now and in the future, they can look through my Bibles and see what verses really spoke to me and in hopes that it would minister to them as well.
2. Because there are times when I am in the desert and reading my Bible is H-A-R-D. God speaks to me in new ways in the things I have written and hi-lighted.
3. Because when I want to share a scripture with someone in need, whatever the need, I can find it easier if it's hi-lighted or has a sticky note by it!
On a side note, I know there are those who find it disrespectful to write in their Bibles, but I need to be able to take notes on what a scripture means to me during different trials/experiences in my life.

My Bible is a mess -- a "holy" mess. I have so many notes, names, smiley faces, drawings, etc.
Good idea for a survey! Cool! See you in a few days, my friend!!!

Thanks so much for your insights! Please keep the comments coming!
