It snowed today -more than what we thought would come. The kids did not have school today. They had their coats on and were waiting for the bus, but it was called off and the buses turned around. The cats were going bonkers trying to "catch" the snow flakes. Here are two pictures of them! They are ferocious! LOL
I am a coffee bean. Coffee beans need to be roasted and ground before they become of any use to their Master. A bean must not remain whole on it's own but ground finely and then it becomes an appetizing aroma especially when the Living Water is poured upon it. My goal is to be a pleasing aroma to my God and Savior.

Strawberry Whipped Sensation
Here is my recipe which I adapted from the Kraft cooking magazine.
Strawberry Whipped Sensation
4 cups fresh strawberries, divided (I only used 2 cups - mashed strawberries)
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1/4 c. lemon juice
1 tub. (8 oz.) Cool whip, thawed, divided (I used real whipping cream to make 2 cups
(I added 1 8 oz. cream cheese softened and whipped in with the sweetened condense milk)
Fold all ingredients together. Line a 8x4-in. loaf pan with foil. Pour into a pan
Top with 8 Oreo cookies crushed and 1 T. butter melted (- but I didn't add the butter)
Freeze at least 6 hours. To serve invert onto plate. Remove foil. Frost with remaining Cool whip. Top with remaining strawberries.
Very easy and very yummy!

Looking for a Recipe for Strawberries
Cole's fever broke Wed. night. He was able to go back to school on Thurs. and made it to the party on Friday night. He came home happy, tired and without a voice. He lost it sometime during the day but he doesn't feel bad. I am going shopping today by myself! Glenn and the boys were going to go but Glenn is still on crutches half time and thinks it will just be too much. He can start physical therapy in a few weeks. So I get to go by myself. I did call my mom to see if she would like to meet me and she probably will do that.
Does anyone have an easy recipe for a dessert with strawberries? Just post it on your website and leave a comment here. I love spring when the strawberries are big and juicy!

How was your Easter weekend? Mine was good. But on Tuesday Cole woke up with a headache. I thought maybe it had something to to with our black lab, Chance. We had to put her down on Tues. due to health problems. So after he stayed home from school in the morning and I gave him ibuprofen at 9:30 he was feeling better and I took him to school. Then at around 2 pm the teacher called and his head was pounding. Don't you just feel like a good mother then... not! Then this morning at 5 am complained of having a headache but then had a fever too! So no school today. With the Ibuprofen he acts fine but when that runs out I can see it in his eyes. No fun especially because on Friday he is invited to a birthday party for one of his friends and he so wants to go. He keeps feeling his head- "I don't think it's so hot mom." I made him take a nap, not that he wanted to. I hope he feels better soon!

Boys will be Boys
Yesterday, the boys went out with a neighbor boy to a creek that is not far from our house. Cole, our youngest, came back about 20 minutes later soaked to the knee in mud because his one leg had fallen into the creek when he tried to jump across. He said they had found some field mice swimming in the creek and were trying to catch them! YUCK! I hate mice. Glenn came home and stopped by to tell Grant to come on home. Grant wasn't home yet by the time we were ready to eat, so we sat down and started. We found out then from Cole that Grant took a dead mouse on the bus last week and scared some girls! He said the girls were screaming. Grant came home, feet, pants and boots wet, and Glenn asked him about it. He just sort of smirked, not admitting anything. Glenn told him that he shouldn't do it again, but could see why it was kind of a fun thing to do. But that he just can't bring mice on the bus and that we weren't mad. Cole then said that the girls were screaming, Grant quickly said that they did not scream. I can't believe Grant got that one by me, he must of picked the container up outside on the way to the bus! I guess that is the thing about being a mom of boys you never know what will come up next!

Kind of a grey day. I know the sun is just beyond the clouds, shining in all it's brilliance but I can't feel it's warmth today. Sometimes I can feel like it's a grey day in my Christian walk too, I know the Lord is right there but it seems as if clouds are covering, keeping me from His warmth. But as I remind myself once again, who makes the clouds in my life - my own busyness, my own attitude about things, circumstances that I have no control over? What are your clouds in life? Eagles
The other day as the kids were running out to the bus, we saw an eagle fly over! It was about 50 feet off the ground. Cole yells, "Grant a bald eagle, a bald eagle!" And it was as plain as ever. It reminds me of the verse in Isaiah:
Isaiah 40:31but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
He was soaring alright, but I can too - God promises that!

Dental work
Numb - my whole lower bottom of my face is numb! I really dislike going to the dentist when I have a cavity! I hate the feeling of a numb face with a passion! This is the second time that the back tooth was worked on within one month but thankfully I don't have to go back. The first time I had a regular cavity - no big deal as I don't think I have had a cavity for at least 10-15 years?!? But while they are filling the tooth the tooth is cracked under the old cavity so they need to put on a crown. So I go back today and then am suppose to go back in 2 weeks for the final crown but.... I don't have to, PTL, because this dentist can make a final crown while you're in the chair. It takes a bit longer but I think that it is worth not having to go back! He makes the crown and it is a purple color then he fires it and it turns white! But now I am waiting for the tinglies to get out of my lip - I really detest that part! It's coming around but slowly.

Rambling on....
I am just rambling on today...
Our sermon today continued a series on 7 aspects of a healthy church. Today's was fellowship. We were reminded that it is good to be part of a family and a church family. I was reminded that sometimes it takes work to make relationships happen and that if you don't feel part of your church -- is it you? (That is my thought because at one time it was me and no one else. I blamed others for my not liking the church but I was not opening myself to anyone else.) Is your church healthy?
I am also reading the book, 90 Minutes in Heaven, by Don Piper. This is a very good book and easy to read. Wow can you imagine heaven? I wonder what it will be like? So beautiful we can't even explain.
I ate lunch with Cole on Friday at school. In the morning he left for school with three shirts on, a muscle shirt, a long-sleeved shirt and a short sleeve shirt on top. He had taken his short sleeve one off by lunch and I asked if he still had on 2 shirts?
yep, he had on a muscle shirt.
A little girl asked him why he was wearing a muscle shirt?
Because, I'm a man! (LOL)

Glenn's foot
Here's the story on Glenn's foot. The first Saturday in February he was playing basketball. (This is something that I don't quite understand because he takes Advil before he plays and after he plays- my question is why do it then? LOL) Well, he heard something pop in his calf. The doctors thought that he tore a calf muscle and the information on the Internet said that it is primarily due to age! How's that for reality. But after a month of hobbling along, it still was not getting better. He was unable to lift himself up on his tip toes. So he went to an orthopedic doctor on Friday and needed an MRI but it looked like surgery was inevitable - more than likely a ruptured Achilles. So the MRI was yesterday at 7:30am. We found out at about 4:30pm that it was not that but a tendon that tore off the bone but can't attach it with surgery and the Achilles has some tears in it at the top but not in the ankle but those will heal. He does have to be in a boot, be on crutches for 4 weeks and then have rehab. But we are so thankful that he will not have to have surgery.
Prayers and Pictures
Hey - it's good news! Thank you to all of you who prayed - Glenn does not need surgery. He will be in a boot for 4 weeks and then start rehab, but no surgery -- Yea! I am so thankful to God and for all the prayers on his behalf this weekend! I came home from Cursillo and laid hands on him and prayed. God is so good! Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
